Shaun Tans The Arrival telling the story

After reading over this comic it was very intresting to realise and discover a certain pattern the artist uses to keep the flow of the story and to not lose the reader. Shaun seperates his pages out into almost a rythmic pattern. Whether using close up face shots or and expansive scene, he will put drawings together to create a almost animatic. He will usually start with an image of a close up of a character, then from there another five pages of some movement or action the characters is displaying. He then normally would go into a vast expanding shot of the environment around him. This sets up all his scenes and shots and benifits through making it clear to the reader how and what specifically is happening in this beutiful and imaganative world.
After reading the book, I then found a animation video that goes through it with sound capture and in a really interesting way brings it to life. Just in this is is clear how action can be used and clear just through the pictures and hints of an author and artist. Heres the Link to the video!
